The WiMAX Smart Grid Is Here, Brought to You By Grid Net
[Earth2Tech] John Steel, project director for SP AusNet, told us in an interview that open standards and interoperability (in contrast with a proprietary system) were a major reason why the Australian utility chose Grid Net’s smart meter software and the WiMAX standard. SP AusNet plans to build it’s own WiMAX network using Motorola hardware, using Unwired Australia’s wireless spectrum, and Steel says the network will cost some “hundreds of millions”

Off-Grid.Net » Tough Times Survival Guide vol 1 - book review ...
[Off-Grid - life unplugged: solar, wind, hydro, architecture, smallholdings, free stuff] Before the internet, I would go to the three local libraries in my hometown, I would check out as many books as each on would allow, take them all home, read-read-read until I had gotten through all of them, then I return the books to their respective homes and start all over again.
