[firefox archive] osol-discuss - Sun Software Product Map- opensolaris not included: No one's trying to sell the line that "everything is rosy," so it's hard to see a badly needed corrective in repeatedly making virtually any Oracle-related news into a frenzied post about yet another sign of the apocalypse. Perhaps you might consider stocking up on canned goods and bottled water rather than trying to make this list into a support group for anxiety disorders. On 8 Jun 2010, at 14:12, Edward Martinez wrote:we can believe what we want all day but the matter of the fact is the last OpenSolaris stable release is 11 months old and Oracle is continuing to remain silent about opensolaris and when I went to oracle's site and came across "suns software product map" and saw that opensolaris is not on that list but it's a sublink on solaris page that points to an opensolaris that is 11 months old relerase, why not to build 134.
[GridWiki - Recent changes [en]] SGE-Hedeby-And-Amazon-EC2 - GridWiki: Michal has mentioned: I think that it can be handled by creating a special Hedeby's service adapter for EC2. It would contain infinite number of "virtual host resources", that would be shutdown by default When there is a need from GE service, RP will always find EC2 service adapter containing a resource that can match the request - so RP will take (remove) such resource from EC2 service (so the EC2 machine instance is started), and assigned it to GE service.

[DanT's Grid Blog] Connecting All the Dots: To make the configuration more demo-friendly, I changed the sloUpdateInterval for the Sun Grid Engine instance to a few seconds (from the default of a few minutes). I also changed the quantity for the spare pools' PermanentRequestSLO's to 1 so that they would only reclaim their resources one at a time, rather than all at once.

[SparkCastle] Build a 64-bit Computer Cluster -- Part 3: Install & Configure ...: Perceus can sync the filesystem of a running node with an updated VNFS capsule, and this works pretty well in a lot of situations where you are just making some basic additions or modifications. I do recommend that if you are doing something like adding a daemon that will start at boot that you reboot the node so you can make sure that the node doesn't choke on startup or shutdown.
