Gridget > Off the Grid: Deadlock - Planetary Conquest : DualShockers
[DualShockers] Deadlock featured everything from military strategy and conquest to minute colony micro-management, which is one thing I love most about these pseudo-RTS-style games. Just like any other game in its genre, different resources are gathered on different land types, and these resources are combined and used to build up your colonys infrastructure - whether it be logistical, scientific or militaristic.

[Comments for Damn Interesting] Damn Interesting America's Secret Plan to Invade Canada: ,even talkin about this subjects crazy but heres why it couldnt ever happen,1.Canada is part of the commonwealth, you mess with Canada you mess with Britain,France wouldnt like this kind of actaion either, now i know all you Americans are going to blab on about what can these lil countries do lol, well lemme point out U.K top five nuke states ,france also a top 5,yes American has 1000s more nukes but,U.K has alone enought to End the world 7 times over(how many nukes do you need?”i am also thinking if it did come to an all out war contrary to what your adverage American might think, that it would be one of air land and sea not nukes coz noone would win,ok lets just break this down yes the U.S.A is big and the most powerful army but look at the stats and you will see your armies are not even all a full time army and there are many reservists.most of Europe would wade in to help Britain and France and i am sure if it come to that Russia would wanna play ball on behalf of Europe(coz a massive part of Russia is Europe)ok so now we have worked out that if that happened it would be more or less 50 states against 50 countries of Europe,in simple terms break them down individualy into state v country….e.g yes some of the poorer european states would be weak in comparison but even so poland 38,130,302 v alabama 4,661,900 lol,no contest, break all the states down against all European countries and its goin to be the same the invasion would last about 1 week and youd be lucky IF you even had your own country left, you would have so many Eurofighter typhones fastest best fighter jet in the world and Russian Su-27S swarming in the skys above all your major citys you would of wished you was eating burgers in macdonalds and watching oprah rather than even considering any invasion of Canada.infact maybe we would let Canada divide the more northerly states of the U.S up into 2 or 3 more proviences lol
[The Oil Drum - Discussions about Energy and Our Future] The Oil Drum | DrumBeat: January 19, 2008: What is more likely to happen is that the political deadlock will continue until full-cycle reprocessing facilities are built under the GNEP agreement. The reprocessed and vitrified waste is of miniscule volumes - 50-100 times less than the original volume, and its radioactivity and toxity is much lower.
[Twenty Sided] Master Of Orion 2 - Twenty Sided: Granted the way the senate is actually implemented is sub-optimal, but I like the idea of some way to win diplomatically (even if my own playing style would rarely utilise it – I am far too fond of bathing in the blood and viscera of my foes).

[BBC News - Justin Webb's America] BBC - Justin Webb's America: Is Obama drifting?: Reagan, to his credit, assembled a well qualified and experienced team, Bush II surrounded himself with one of the greediest and most deceitful teams in the history of our country. Their successes and failures are due, to a large extent, on the advice they receive but, ultimately, the outcome of their policies depend largely on circumstances, external forces, and their ability to discern between good and bad advice.
[The Oil Drum - Discussions about Energy and Our Future] The Oil Drum | DrumBeat: July 29, 2008: the same argument could be used within the US -you fool your own population with the 'work hard and you will conquer all crap', it beats me while people still fall for it when its clear that wealth is vastly skewed towards the top end. Having said that fair taxation has helped -look to Africa to see a real wealth gap.
[Whatanews4u.Sports] BBC - Mark Mardell's America: The political divide: A bridge too far?: Cheney's Halliburton could take care of the rebuilding efforts and the management of resources to make sure the Venezuelan people don't suffer, and Blackwater USA could take over all internal security functions with a little assistance from the Colombian death squads. A win/win scenario if I ever saw one don't you think?
