CodeBlueBlog[CodeBlueBlog] CodeBlueBlog: Terri Schiavo R.I.P. Part III: The Brain Speaks: Finally, no matter whether Terri would have wished to die or not, I believe the treatment of her by Michael Schiavo (and allowed by Judge Greer) was wrong--at least from soon after the malpractice settlement forward. I don't care whether a person is in a legal battle to end their life or not--while they are still alive you don't deprive them of therapy and stimulation, forbid anyone from taking them out of the room when they are well able to be transported, refuse to get them needed equipment for their care and comfort, order that they not be treated for painful infections, let them go a year with an untreated vaginal infection, order that their teeth not be brushed so that five of them rot and have to be removed (when they were fine until that point), forbid their family and others from visiting, refuse to fulfill the legal requirements of being their guardian (such as filing reports and providing therapy), and all the other things that are well-documented which Michael Schiavo did.
